Portrait practice! Still learning how to paint people, haha. This was fun!

For homework, we had to take photographs of ourselves.

Gasp! With a surprise appearance from Gandalf the Gray!

Tortoise painting! I dig the textural look of it. It also reminds me of Halloween/Fall.

Last Friday we had a live model, and the class painted grayscale as well as color studies. These are my favorites of the day!

More texture exercises! Today we mostly worked on hair and fur textures. 

Here are some snapshots of texture practice that we did in class on Friday/some for homework over the weekend. I had trouble with the grainy, linear texture square with the small circles, so I decided to do both the grayscale and regular. They could all use some work, but I am decently proud of the progress!
